So, we have had an interesting week! You may have heard by now - our house was robbed Tuesday while we were at work. They basically stole everything electronic. Ed and I had to make a list Tuesday night of what was taken - it's amazing how much stuff you can accumulate over the years! Our list comprised of our 42" flatscreen TV, 2 laptops (though 1 didn't work well, so joke was on them), PS3 and games, PSP and games, Nintendo DS and games (sensing a theme here?), my old digital camera, our new digital camera (a SLR one we just got last week!), our relatively new digital video camera, my acoustic guitar, and the list goes on. So Tuesday night we were pretty upset, especially because we didn't have any pictures or video of Tyler really backed up. Of course, they also took some funny stuff - some drinks out of the fridge, a box of gum. This had the detective thinking it was probably teenagers.
Well, Wednesday the detective called and said they had found our stuff! It was in some of the woods of the park behind our house. It did rain Tuesday night and it was all outside all night (though everything small was in plastic bags), so we're not sure if it will be OK. We haven't gotten it back from the police. The police also have the teenagers in custody that did it. They had actually arrested them Tuesday for something else, which is why the kids didn't go back to the park and retreive our stuff from the woods.
Today (Thursday) the detective called and asked Ed how to use our video camera to watch videos (it's not the most self explanatory). Turns out, these brilliant teenagers decided to video tape themselves robbing our house with our camera! So the police have it on video as evidence. How dumb is that! Apparently they also admitted to doing it, too. Hopefully we can get all of our stuff back this weekend and it will all be working.
