First ER Visit
So Tyler had his firt ER visit last week. Before I go on let me just reassure you that he's totally fine! I say first visit because I just have this feeling he's going to take after Ed and do lots of crazy things that might end up hurting him. . . . Anyway, the reason we went to the ER is that Tyler fell down the steps to the basement, all the way from the top. Sometimes our doors don't latch when you shut them, so they kind of bounce back open. This happened to the basement door last Friday. So Tyler saw that it was not latched, I guess, and opened it then went through. But he hasn't learned how to go down stairs yet (only up) so he ended up falling all the way to the bottom. One of those things - you turn away for a second and it happens. He seemed fine, just scared. But he had a bump on his forehead, so just in case we took him to the hospital to be checked out. 4 hours later, we were allowed to leave! They checked him out and said he seemed fine - he was acting normal and hadn't hurt his arms or legs or anything. Just to make sure there wasn't a head injury, we had to stay there for 3 hours for observation. The time actually went by relatively fast, and he did really well, which was suprising since he had no nap at all that day. We are friends with the previous owners of our house. Ironically, their daughter also fell down the stairs in the exact same way (she was also fine!) so they installed a little hook at the top of the door to make sure the door can't be pulled open. Needless to say, we've started to use that! Praise God nothing worse happened then a little bump on his head, it could have been a lot worse!
